The Haryana government has unveiled a major initiative to modernize education by establishing composite technology labs in government schools across the state. The project — launched by the Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE) — aims to introduce students to artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, coding and digital technology, beginning with 100 schools in the first phase.
A New Vision for School Education
Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP), this initiative aims to move beyond traditional rote learning and reinforce skill-based, future-ready education. The labs will be equipped with computers, robotics kits, and digital learning tools designed to boost creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills among students of Classes 6 to 12.
Curriculum and Teacher Training
HBSE is also updating the school curriculum to include structured courses in software literacy and programming for higher classes. To ensure quality delivery, the board plans specialized teacher training programs so educators can effectively integrate advanced technologies into classroom teaching.
Bridging the Digital Divide
Officials say the initiative will help reduce the digital divide in government schools, providing students from underserved communities with opportunities comparable to their private-school peers. By introducing digital skill sets early, the state hopes to prepare students for careers in technology, engineering and innovation-driven sectors.
📌 This step marks a significant shift in public education, preparing young learners for a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
